Raw Emotion | The Inspiration

Vivid lines and textured colors represent the very moment emotions appear. That is the concept for the collection called "Raw Emotion". I am inspired by my extensive practice of mediation throughout the years and what I have seen as I quiet my mind, detach myself from the world and begin observing what comes up from within.

As I observe, I can see many shapes and forms appear and disappear in a matter of seconds. The color will not come at this stage, but appears right when I begin to paint. The mind is a very powerful tool.

"For my 2 simultaneous live paintings at the exhibition, I am inspired by the teachings of my mentor monk who taught me how to detach myself of physical desires; the practice is done by imagining each layer of human skin being peeled away, bit by bit, until there is nothing left but shapes and movements." - Worapol

Each paintings contain various textures that are truly unique in its own way. Oil paintings gives out a thick, vibrant feel and the strokes give movement and fluidity.

Even though I sketch my paintings beforehand, as I concentrate on the movements and emotions that come up, most of the colors and strokes are done live. I paint with palette knife to recapture my emotions into strokes and textures. My paintings are all up to personal interpretations. Larger paintings translate my emotions best.
